Not long ago, I found a good Japanese restaurant when I stopped by Munich, Germany. The food was very delicious and it was the taste of my hometown for me, who usually lives in the French countryside. The Japanese waiters were also polite and I liked it very much. I had a little conversation with the waiter, but when I said that I was from Honfleur, France, it was very difficult for me to learn well even though I was young, saying, "Is it the birthplace of Saty or Array? Is it a port city?" I was impressed. If you have a chance to visit Munich, I would love to come back again.

Service 0, The food may be good but the staff are lousy with customer service. Rude and unavailable.

Rude staff. It is written that take away is possible but they refused to serve us. They don't speak English. To be avoided

Haven’t tried the food but the service was bad. Staff didn’t speak English well, there was no table so I had to wait. I asked him for a chair to wait outside, and he said some sort of yes (?) or maybe just not understand. 15 minutes later still no chair and I left very disappointed.

Class! Relatively small restaurant, the employees are Japanese. Authentic food; the menu 1 for 28 € is bombastic at this price: miso soup, starter (salmon), baked chicken, tempura (fish and vegetables), sushi, dessert. Highly Recommended. Very friendly service.

If possible I would like to give more stars !!!! The best Japanese restaurant in Munich! The food is fresh and incredibly tasty and the portion is also large. Condition very very nice !!!! I definitely want to come again !!!!! The price is very ok !! I love Mitani !!!!

I think this is one of the most authentic Japanese restaurant in Munich because it offers more than just sushi and there's not Vietnamese food mixed into the menu (I think many "Japanese" restaurants are owned by Vietnamese that are trying to make Asian fusion or something). The vibe I felt when I entered was very Japanese and I think all the Japanese locals visit here often. I ordered the sashimi platter and it's very a fresh and good quality selection of fish. The teriyaki salmon with rice is also very delicious and flavorful. I just wish the portion was bigger because I was satisfied but not full. Well sashimi isn't supposed to be filling but the teriyaki salmon could be bigger. Next time I'd like to try the karaage, Japanese fried chicken!

The dishes are excellent, but to make yourself understood by Asian waiters it was difficult as a non-German speaking tourist. They hardly spoke English. Then they totally forgot about us in our corner for an hour, without even asking if we wanted anything else. Obviously we posed a problem for them because the service seemed normal for the other tables. When paying, they refused our credit card and asked for cash without returning change. Too bad it gradually became very unpleasant.

Worst shrimps ever. Deep-fried with heads and shell. Staff knows 0 words in English or just pretends to. Accepts payments in cash or some suspicion bank only. 4/10 sushi. 5/10 soups.

Karage is ok, a bit too salty. There aren't so many varieties on menu.

My dining companion said this was the best karaage chicken he's eaten. The sashimi was gorgeous, too. The only thing letting the place down is badly chipped crockery and glassware and broken chairs.

We had a great evening at Mitani and not just delicious food but also excellent service. We ordered quite the different selection, from the menu to selected items and the whole party was satisfied. The food is of high quality and everyone found something to their taste. The price is also affordable and adequate. A bigger selection of sake would have been nice

Over 60% of guest are Japanese and always fully booked, that speaks for itself. Better make reservation ;-)

Excellent set menu. Miso soup, tempura, sushi, green tea ice cream. A real feast!

The food is amazing. I took the “tasting menu” and it was a lot. However, every course was great. I have to say that the service was really disappointing. They closed before serving us the ice cream (which we paid for) and we had to wait forever to pay. The service was slow and a bit awkward. If it wouldn’t be for the tasty food, I wouldn’t go back again.

Definitely one of top3 Japanese restaurants in Munich! Their aubergine with miso and Octopus with ginger are incredible! Sushi is good but not as overwhelming as warm dishes. Recommend!

Very good food. Without a reservation it's hard to get a table.

Went here because several people recommended the place to me, but... Sukiyaki is 60 (sixty!) EUR. Mostly there is nothing cheaper than 15 EUR. I ended up with some Udon soup which was ok. Maybe it's suitable for people looking for some fancy place (however I wouldn't call the place itself "fancy"), but I think I will not go here again, or at least not for casual lunch\dinner.
